The Lake Chabot Trail Challenge is a traditional race, held since 1984, offers runners a rugged, challenging course with lots of hills along a looped course throughout the park. The best finishers will receive special RRCA championship awards.

Race Info
T-shirt and finisher medals will be given to the first 300 registered runners. Entries will also be accepted on the day of the race. The half marathon time limit is 3,5 hours. Both races are chip-timed.
All finishers will get medals. Age division medals will be given to the top 3 athletes in each age group.
Castro Valley usually has mild to moderately warm weather in June. On the race day the average low temperature is 51ºF and the average high is 71ºF. Runners will share the roads in the park with other runners, cyclists and pedestrians not participating in the race.

Course Map
You can find the course map and description here: runsignup.com. The half marathon course is hilly loop, running mostly on dirt fire roads. On the course there are water stations and first aid stations. The 5K distance is a “out and back” course with gentle hills, consisting mostly of paved surface. There is 1 water station along the course.
