La Jolla Half Marathon and 5K

The La Jolla Half Marathon is one of the most scenic and beautiful point-to-point race in San Diego. The hilly and challenging half marathon attracts more than 5,000 runners each year to run along one of the most scenic stretches of the Southern California coast. The winners will get prize money.

Race Info

All finishers will receive a custom-designed finisher’s medal, custom-designed t-shirts, access to a lively festival after the finish, post-race food and refreshments including a ticket to the beer garden, a runner’s stuff bag and more.

Awards: half marathon: 1st Place – $100, 2nd – $50, 3rd – $25. 5K: 1st Place – $100, 2nd – $50, 3rd – $25. The top 3 men and women in each age group will be also awarded.

The time limit for the half marathon is 3,5 hours, for the 5K – 1 hour. There will be a pace team. Due to the steep descents, strollers, wheelchairs and hand bikes are not allowed in both races.

A professional company will take pictures along the course and at the start and finish. Make sure that your bib number is pinned to the front of your clothing, it will allow you to be identified. All participants can download photos for free.

You can find the course map and description here: lajollahalfmarathon.com. Because of the nature of the trail (up and down), the total elevation gain is 440 feet. There will be 13 aid stations along the course.
