The course of the Bizz Johnson 50K is almost all downhill, which has helped it become known as the fastest marathon in the West. The race is considered one of the best in the state for runners looking to set a personal record because the angle of descent is never steeper than 2%, so a gentle, easy descent is offered throughout the course.

Race Info
There will be no registration on the race day. The shirts will be a soft cotton and polyamide blend in men’s and women’s sizes. A free shuttle to the start must be booked during the registration.
Participants of the marathon and the 50K distance can left their warm clothes at the start. Bags will be delivered after the start to the finish line. On the 50K all finishers will receive an individual coaster. On all distances finishers will receive an individual medal. The top 3 men and women in all races will receive an individual award. The top 3 men and women in age groups will receive award medals.
The time limits: 10K – 2 hours, half marathon – 3,5 hours, marathon – 8 hours, 50K – 8 hours. Susanville typically has mild weather in October, with cool mornings and warm mid-day temperatures. There is almost no precipitation during the month. On the race day the average low is 51ºF and the average high is 80ºF.
