Avenue of the Giants Marathon

Throughout the course, the scenery changes from a combination of redwoods to wide open spaces. The route begins with flat terrain around the first mile and then becomes more hilly and challenging as runners move into the middle miles of the race. All three races combined involve more than 2,400 runners.

Race Info

Cotton T-shirts are included into the entry fee. Technical T-shirts, sweatshirts and hats will be available for purchase. Medals will be given to all finishers.

The cutt of for the marathon and half marathon is 6 hours, for the 10K 3 hours.

There will be 13 aid stations with gel, bananas, oranges and water along the marathon course, 8 along the half marathon course and 4 at the 10K.

The first male and female finisher at the 10K race will receive a cash prize of $50.00.

Even in the unshaded sections of the course, the altitude and time of year combine to provide cool temperatures in most years throughout the course.

Dogs are not allowed at the course. Cause the course is not completely closed to traffic, the use of headphones is strongly discouraged. If you choose to use such a device, you will not be eligible for awards. The roads will be too narrow, uneven and congested, so strollers are prohibited.
