The Orca Half

The The Orca Half is a point-to-point half marathon along the shores of West Seattle. The start will be wavy. There’s even a bell that runners can ring at the finish line if they’ve reached a PR in the race. The number of participants is limited to 450, so runners are encouraged to register early.

Race Info

Overall awards will be given to the top 3 men, women and non-binary runners each based on their gun time. Awards are also given out by age groups. Awards are not sent out after the race, it should be picked up at the race.

Strollers and dogs are not allowed to the course. The dogs on a leash are welcome at the start and finish line. Course closes at 1:00 PM. So participants will have 5 hours to cover 13,1 miles – plenty of time if you’re walking.

There are 40 spots available for virtual participants. Once they are sold out, there will be no more spots available. A T-shirt and medal will be mailed after the in-person race.

Course Map

You can find the course map and description here: orcarunning.com. The distance goes from point to point with two small “out and back” sections at the beginning and a longer section at the end. Roads will not be closed to traffic.
