The Rocket City Marathon has been held since 1978 in North Alabama. There are good cash prizes for the winners.

Race Info
The top 5 men and women overall will receive awards (1st place $1000, 2nd $750, 3rd $500, 4th $300, 5th $200), the top 3 men and women masters (1st place $750, 2nd $500, 3rd $250). There will not be an awards ceremony. Awards will not be mailed out. Participants who use headphones will not be eligible for prize money.
The time limit for the course is 6 hours. After 13:05 competitors will not be considered officially finished. Aid stations will be spaced approximately 2-3 miles apart where water, energy drink and energy gels will be provided.
Baby strollers, skateboards, bicycles, pets, and roller skates are not allowed on the course.
