The Ridge Rumble trail race in Montana sets its starting point at the Mt. Helena Ridge Trailhead, a gateway to stunning views and challenging terrain. Runners will encounter a diverse mix of rocky sections, dense forests, and open ridges as they navigate through this iconic trail.
During the race, participants will also conquer the legendary Dump Gulch Trail, an exhilarating descent that leads to the gulch below. With steep switchbacks and technical sections, Dump Gulch Trail provides an adrenaline-pumping experience for runners seeking a thrilling challenge.

Race Info
The race will be in time-trial or pursuit format, with slower runners starting earlier than faster runners. Groups of 5–10 runners of similar pace (based on prior results or recent 10k or 12k times) will start together, with a faster group starting 5 minutes later, and so on until all runners have started. The fastest runners have their work cut out for them to try to catch up before the finish line.
Each runner who completes all three of BQuick Running’s Helena-area races is eligible for a special “SHATS” series award!
This route is suitable for new trail runners: only the first 3 km are uphill, and the rest of the route is downhill.
