Queen Bee Montana Marathon

Several hundred runners and walkers take to the Queen Bee Montana Marathon each year. The marathon is known for being a fast and beautiful course to qualify for Boston. All races will finish in Pioneer Park, where participants will enjoy a fun exhibition, refreshments, music, prizes and awards.

Race Info

All participants will receive finisher’s medals. There will also be awards in age groups and overall. The race is open to runners and walkers both.

Along the way, runners will pass a number of city parks, over bridges over streams and rivers and past Yellowstone Country Club. No parking is allowed at the starting line.

The city of Billings tends to have warm to mild summers and often very cold winters, with relatively little rain throughout the year. On the race day, the average low is 44ºF and the average high is 76ºF.

Course Map

You can find the course map and description here: montanamarathon.org. This USATF-certified course is hilly for the first ten miles, but has 1000 vertical feet to lose in the last 16 miles. This distance is the qualifying distance for Boston.
