It will be held in honor of the victims of the July 4 tragedy and the residents of Highland Park neighborhood. More than 2,000 runners participate in the event each year. Most of the course is flat, except for a few hilly sections with the most significant hill “Park Avenue Beach Hill.”

Race Info
All participants will receive a T-shirt, and all half marathon and 5K runners will also receive a finisher’s medal, designed to honor the seven victims of the Fourth of July tragedy.
The virtual race consists of a half marathon, a 5K, and a 1-mile race. Participants in the half marathon and 5K will receive a finisher’s medal, and participants in all three races will receive a commemorative T-shirt and a virtual badge that will be delivered directly to you.
The 5K distance is fast. Participants will need to maintain a pace of at least 15 minutes per mile, as race organizers will need to reopen the course for traffic by 12 PM. Participants will do a quick loop around the neighborhood and then finish at an after-race party with food and refreshments. All roads will be closed to traffic. The Highland Park Strong Half Marathon and 5K are official timed events; the run/walk 1 mile is not timed. After the race, participants will receive free photos of themselves during the race via email.
