New River Marathon has paved roads with a few gravel sections and the most hilly sections come in the first three miles of the race. Wooden finisher medals, locally made awards, finisher goodies and more.

Race Info
Ash County and the North Carolina Highlands, in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains are the birthplace of the New River Marathon. The races take place along the banks of the historic New River in Todd and Fleetwood, North Carolina.
Todd is usually characterized by cool to moderate (and sometimes cold, especially in the mornings) weather in late spring, when temperatures average in the low 40s to low 70s. Participants can join a delicious dinner before the race at the restaurant: pasta, meat sauce, vegetarian sauce, buffet salad, garlic rolls, drinks (tea, lemonade, soda).
Awards: the top 3 women and men overall, the top 3 women and men in age groups. The time limit: 5,45 hours – the half marathon, 6 hours – the full marathon.
