La Porte by the Bay Half Marathon is the highest half marathon above the ground in Texas, as the course will pass over a bridge that is more than 170 feet above the water of the Texas Gulf Coast. The race will be limited to 2000 participants.

Race Info
The minimum age for participation in the half marathon is 8 years old. Walkers are welcome at the race, but you must observe the time limit (19-20 minutes per mile). The time limit for the half marathon will be 4 hours. Strollers are also allowed, but dogs are forbidden on the course. The organizers strongly advise against the use of headphones at the race.
Awarding will be based on chip time. Awards will be given only on the day of the race and will not be mailed out. There will be mile markers at each mile. Isotonics and water will be provided at aid stations and the finish line.
La Porte usually has moderately cool to mild weather in November. On the race day the average low temperature is 51ºF and the average high temperature is 71ºF.
