The USATF certified trail of the Jackson River Scenic Trail Marathon follows an old railroad and passes through small communities, cultivated fields and small areas of forest. Wildlife (birds, turtles, raccoons, rabbits, marmots and deer) can often be seen from the trail.

Race Info
All finishers will receive a finisher’s medal. The top 3 male and female finishers in each race will receive distinctive awards. The top 3 finishers in each age group will get certificates of achievement. Unique awards will be given to the top 3 male and female finishers in the marathon, half marathon, 10K and 5K races. The top 3 men and women in each race will be honored at an awarding ceremony 30 minutes after completion of the race. The organizers will not mail out awards.
Refreshments will be provided for all runners at the finish line. This event is held rain or shine. In the event of serious inclement weather, race status announcements will be posted on the website, Facebook and local media.
The time limit of the marathon – 6,30 hours, half marathon – 3,05.

You can find the course map and description here: jacksonrivermarathon.com. The marathon is USATF certified and a Boston Qualifier Race. The trail runs on a smooth crushed stone and gravel trail surface. The course is mostly flat with some small hills. This is an “out and back” course.
