The Devil After Dark begins just before sunset, participants will run through the canyon while enjoying a stunning sunset. An enchanted late summer evening run. Starting at about 4500 feet, runners will see high desert vegetation. The road curves and turns through a canyon where temperatures are 10 degrees cooler than in the Las Vegas Valley.

Race Info
All finishers will receive medals. The top 3 men and women in each race overall, the winners between men and women in the age groups will receive awards. The overall winners will be eliminated from the competition for age group awards. Awards in the overall standings and age groups are determined on the basis of the gun time.
At the 5K course will be 1 aid station, at the 10K – 3 aid stations, at the half marathon – 8, at the marathon – 16.
At the start/finish line, participants will be able to leave their own equipment bags. It’s moderately hot (during the day) with daytime highs of 85-90 degrees and nighttime lows of 65.

You can find the course map and description here: calicoracing.com. The marathon runs on a paved road for about 11 miles, twisting and turning, over rolling and gradually uphill terrain. The course is very simple and well-marked. The course has the USA Track & Field (USATF) Course Certification.
