The Des Plaines River Trail Races takes place on a beautiful and fast course in Illinois. Participants will run through beautiful lush forests and open marshes on a wide gravel trail, free of roots and rocks. Thanks to the expected cool temperatures and flat terrain, this course is ideal for achieving a personal best.

Race Info
There will be grilled, beef and veggie burgers, chips, drinks and cookies, free beer after the race for adult participants. To participate in the half marathon an athlete must be at least 12 years old, in the marathon, 50K and 50M distances 16 years old. Pacers are not allowed.
Medals will be awarded to the male and female winners in each race and to the winners in each age group. In the non-binary category, plaques will be awarded to the overall winner. There are no awards in the age groups. Participants in the 50M race will receive a belt buckle instead of a medal. Absolutely all participants will receive a finisher’s medal upon completion of the race.
The weather is usually cool or mild here in October. On the day of the race the average low is 43°F and the average high is 64°F.

You can find the course map and description here: desplainesrivertrailraces.com. The Marathon is a Boston Qualifier and USATF certified. The course is fine crushed limestone and is in very good condition. It is a trail run, so there may be sections where you have to run on water.
