Each year 1000 participants of the Chickamauga Battlefield Marathon run on the paved roads and trails of Georgia’s historic Civil War battlefields. The course includes many hills.

Race Info
The marathon and half marathon are limited to 1500 participants. Each finisher will receive a medal. The course is mostly paved and challenging. Sentries will be posted at each major turn and all turns will be marked.
Overall winners will be determined by gun time. Age group awards will be based on chip time. Awards will be given to overall male and female winners, male and female winners among masters (40+), grandmasters (50+), senior grandmasters (60+), as well as top 3 men and women in age groups.
The time limit for the half marathon is 6 hours. Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia usually has cool weather in the fall. In November, temperatures average between 40°F and 61°F and rainfall averages just under 4,9 inches.
