Black Mountain Ultra Traverse

The Black Mountain Ultra Traverse is a tough endurance run. This is a no-frills run.  Participants will face a grueling climb, several mountains 6000 feet high. After the race, participants will enjoy their favorite campfire sit-downs. Proceeds from this event will go to the NC High Peaks Trail Association.

Race Info

To register for the race, participants must have completed a trail run of at least 50K distance within the last three years. The time limit to complete the 48M race is 19 hours, for the 24M is 15 hours. It is possible to walk the entire course and make it to the checkpoint.

Prior to the race, participants will receive a gpx file of the course with a detailed description. Participants will receive a sweatshirt, finisher’s cap and hot food at the finish line.

Awards will be given to the best men and women overall and the best masters among men and women (40+). The best male and female finishers in the 48M distance will receive a vest. The top male and female finishers on both distances will receive a free entry into next year’s race.
