Adirondack Marathon

The Adirondack Marathon is the most beautiful race of the year. The Adirondack Marathon includes a full marathon and two-person marathon relay, half marathon, 10K, 5K and Kids run. The course of the race runs along the waterfront of a beautiful lake in the rolling hills of Adirondack Park in upstate New York.

Race Info

The marathon is limited to 500 runner, half marathon – 650 runners. Participants will receive T-shirts. Handmade Adirondack bears will be awarded. Cash prizes will be available for new course records. Water and sports drinks will be available at 15 stations along the marathon course – about every two miles until mile 20, then every mile from mile 20 through mile 25. At the half marathon course will be 9 aid stations, at 10K and 5K – 2 aid stations. There will be water, sports drinks, fresh fruit, yogurt, ice cream, fresh baked goods and more in the finish area. 

A team of pacers will be waiting for participants to help them reach their marathon goals. Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Participants must be at least 16 years of age on the day of the race to participate in the marathon. Coaches, dogs, roller skates, skateboards, bicycles, and treadmills are not allowed on the course. For safety reasons, the organizers don’t recommend the use of headphones.

The Kids’ Run is suitable for runners ages 4-12. All participants will receive a free T-shirt and finisher’s medal. A shuttle bus will be provided to transport participants from the start and finish of the full marathon to the start of the half marathon.

You can find the course map and description here: adirondackmarathon.org. The first five or six miles of the half marathon are flat, then the long gentle hills begin. 10K and 5K races will take place on paved streets in the heart of the village.
